Cannington Equestrian Centre

Based at Cannington College, we are a British Horse Society (BHS) approved training and exam centre open to the public all year round.

Ride, train, and learn at one of the South West’s premier equestrian facilities

Whether you are a complete beginner, a career student, or a seasoned competitor, our friendly team and top-class facilities are here to help you achieve your equestrian goals.

We offer professional-standard facilities available for lessons, training, and private hire.

World-class facilities

  • Indoor Arena (42m x 22m): A bright, weather-proof space perfect for year-round riding.

  • Outdoor Arena (50m x 40m): A large, high-quality surface for dressage, jumping, and flatwork.

  • Cross Country & Jumping: We feature a full range of show jumps, fillers, and portable cross-country fences to challenge riders of all abilities.

  • BHS Approved: As the only BHS-Approved Stage 3 Exam Centre in Somerset, our standards of care and tuition are second to none.

Riding lessons & training

Private and group lessons

Available for riders aged 11+ (weight limit 13.5 stone).

Career training

We run BHS Stage 1, 2, and 3 training courses for those looking to gain professional qualifications.

Stable management

Learn essential horse care skills with our non-ridden evening lectures and practical sessions.

Kids & juniors

Join our popular “Mini Jump Club” or “Club Luigi” for fun, confidence-building sessions for younger riders.

Please note:

  • Price list was last updated in May 2025.
  • Each session is 40 minutes long unless stated otherwise.
  • Lessons are only available for those over 11 years of age only.
