Located within the Animal Management Centre at Cannington College, the Cannington Dog Grooming Salon offers a full range of grooming, bathing, and trimming services for dogs of all breeds.

About us

Our friendly Salon Manager works alongside our experienced lecturing staff and dog grooming students to provide a professional, high-quality experience for every dog who visits.

We are currently welcoming new clients and even offer free puppy pamper introductory sessions for our youngest four-legged friends. To book an appointment or find out more, call us on 01278 655210.

Courses & training

Are you passionate about dogs and considering a career change? At Cannington College, we offer part-time Level 2 & 3 Dog Grooming Assistant qualifications.

Students train alongside experienced, qualified groomers, gaining hands-on experience in our salon with real canine clients.

You’ll learn practical skills and essential knowledge to prepare you for a career as a dog groomer or grooming assistant.

Specialty services

Puppy Pamper introduction

A gentle introduction to grooming for puppies, including a warm bath, fluff dry, brushing, hygiene care, ear cleaning, nail trim, and optional facial and paw tidy.

Hand-stripping

Hand-stripping removes dead hairs by hand to maintain coat texture and colour for wire-haired breeds. Includes nail trim and ear cleaning.

Blueberry facial

A soothing, aroma-therapeutic facial to remove tear stains and brighten the coat. Ideal for breeds such as Pugs, Shih Tzus, and French Bulldogs.

In-between groom

Perfect for woolly-coated breeds like Cockapoos or Bichons, this groom includes a double wash, fluff dry, detangling, face and feet tidy, nail clipping, and optional Blueberry facial.

Full Groom

A complete grooming experience with natural shampoos, head-to-tail blow dry, de-shedding, full coat clipping and styling, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and optional Blueberry facial.

Our Dog Grooming courses teach you how to care for dogs of all breeds, enabling you to develop the hands-on skills you need to thrive in the industry.

Learning Resource Centre

Whether you’re working on an assignment, revising for an exam, or simply looking for a quiet space between lessons, our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is designed to help you succeed.

Term Dates

The academic year, which starts in September, is split into three terms: autumn, spring, and summer. Terms are separated by Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays, respectively. Each is made up of two parts, separated by week-long half term holidays.
