If you love animals and would like a career in an animal-based industry, this course gives you the skills and knowledge needed to progress.
The course covers units from animal care and horse care pathways.

Assessment is based on a portfolio of evidence showcasing your progress.
Progression Options
This course aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to move into employment at a junior level, or progress onto a Level 2 qualification.
Entry Requirements
You will need GCSEs in the 3 to 1 range or other equivalent qualifications. A genuine interest in the animal-based industries and a willingness to learn are vital. You will be invited to attend an interview to assess your suitability for the course.

All students have the opportunity to meet with a Careers Advisor for 1:1 career support.
The Student Experience Team can mentor and signpost students who are struggling with a range of issues that are negatively impacting their day-to-day life. The Student Experience Team works closely with the Safeguarding & Lifestyle Teams to promote proactive wellbeing enrichment sessions. The team can refer on to counselling when appropriate.

All of our students will have a personal tutor to support them with their academic progress and personal development. The tutorial programme consists of 1:1 support, group tutorials and guest speakers, plus targeted online resources which complement the UCS College Group Advantage scheme.
