Course Overview

Do you want to have the knowledge to propagate your own plants? This day course will cover seasonal seed propagation and instruction of how to take cuttings to increase your plant stock for free. Based in the beautiful walled garden of cannington, a garden tour is also included.

Units of study/what is involved:

  • Principles of propagation – benefits of seeds, cuttings, division
  • Seed sowing – seed sowing and growing, selecting suitable compost/containers, where to purchase seeds, seed saving
  • Vegetative propagation – stem and leaf cuttings, growing environments and propagation equipment
