Course Overview

Are you keen to grow your own seasonal cut flowers to bring into the house? This seed to vase course not only looks at growing your own flowers from seed and bulbs but also how to choose perennial plants to put into your garden to use in your displays.

It will also allow you to plan your gardening seasons to ensure you will have a selection of material to use throughout the year, from planning, successional growing and growing systems. A classroom-based course with tours of grounds along with the opportunity to create your own floristry arrangement with our florist.

Units of study/what is involved:

  • Garden planning and growing environments
  • Selecting seeds/bulbs and where to purchase
  • Walk around the grounds to look at seasonality and foliage
  • Demonstration of seed sowing
  • Information of how to grow the plants in your garden to ensure a successional successful crop.
  • Use of floristry room for seasonal arrangement.

Additional costs:

There may be some additional costs for the floristry arrangement. Sturdy footwear required for garden tour

Course review and feedback, reflective practice.

If you enjoy working outdoors, we have a range of land-based courses that may be of interest, including part time RHS (Royal Horticultural Society), horticulture and floristry courses.
