Course Overview

This course is suitable for individuals who wish to explore and perfect a variety practical gardening skills.Through hands on delivery, learners will develop skills and knowledge covering a wide range of gardening tasks including; plant propagation, pruning, soil types, bulb planting and seed sowing in addition to many other gardening tasks. The instruction and assessments are all practically based.

The course runs during term time and is accessible to start at any point during the academic year. The Course can be broken into three sections, beginning with the Award, continuing with Certificate, then upon completion the Diploma. This allows for an element of flexibility.

Assessment Methods

Practical tasks are assessed by the tutor throughout the duration of the course by observation and questioning.

Progression Options

Once complete, opportunities include RHS Principles of Horticulture Level 2 or RHS Practical Horticulture Certificate Level 2.
