Hi, I’m Daisy, and I’m studying Beauty Therapy. What I love most about my course is making people feel beautiful and confident. I really enjoy knowing that I can help improve how someone feels about themselves through beauty treatments and by boosting their confidence.
On my course, we cover a wide range of modules, including manicures, pedicures, waxing, lash and brow treatments, and spray tanning. Each one teaches me new skills, but beyond that, I’ve also developed important communication skills and gained confidence when talking to people. It’s been incredibly useful for building my self-assurance.
After college, I want to continue working in a salon. I’m currently working in one, which gives me the perfect opportunity to practice my skills every day and improve constantly. My goal is to eventually own my own salon one day, offering a variety of treatments, including beauty therapy and aesthetics. I’d like to offer a broad range of services to cater to different clients.
The best part of the course for me is the chance to meet new people and work with different clients. I’ve also had the chance to take part in a competition in Weston last March, where we competed in manicures, facials, lash treatments, and more. It was a fantastic experience that boosted my confidence and helped me practice my skills under pressure. I believe competing and real-world practice have made me a better beautician.
We’re also looking forward to industry professionals coming to visit us soon, which will be a great opportunity to learn from those who run their own salons and understand how the industry works. I’d advise anyone considering this course to go for it. If you’re passionate about beauty, it’s absolutely worth it.
When I first started college, I was a bit shy, but now I’m much more confident. I’ve gained many skills and learned how to do so much more than I ever thought I could. I mostly balance college with working in the salon, but I also know there are many other opportunities here to grow and develop further.
A typical day involves practical work every day, which I really prefer because I learn best through hands-on experience. We also have tutorial sessions a couple of times a week, which are short but helpful. This approach suits my learning style perfectly, and I believe it will prepare me well for my future in the beauty industry.
