Course Overview

This short course aims to give you further insight into the fascinating world of dog behaviour.

This course has been designed for dog owners and people who work with dogs who have completed the introduction to canine behaviour course and who are eager to learn more about their canine companions, further extending their knowledge base and enhancing their skills.

Over a three-week programme you will learn about the most common behaviour challenges faced by pet owners, why they occur, and how to prevent and manage them. You will also look at learning, communication and how to give dogs natural behaviour outlets to enhance their lives. Topics will include dog-to-dog aggression, separation anxiety and resource guarding.

The course has been developed with, and will be delivered by, a qualified behaviour practitioner with a wealth of industry experience.

Theory sessions will take place at our Cannington campus for 3 hours on a Monday evening for 3 consecutive weeks. Tea and coffee will be provided at each session.

Upon completion of this course, you can progress onto the Advanced Dog Behaviour course.

Assessment Methods

No formal assessment however a College certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the programme.

Entry Requirements

It is expected all learners will have completed the Introductory course to Canine Behaviour and Training as well as a continuing interest and passion to understand dogs and to improve their welfare through positive training. A willingness and commitment to learning.
