This degree has been designed to meet the demand for skilled engineers in the rapidly-expanding UK nuclear sector. The programme provides a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles, with a specialisation in nuclear technology. You will develop the knowledge and skills required to design, operate and maintain the complex systems used in nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities.

Progression Options
Graduates of this programme will be well-equipped for a career in the nuclear industry, as well as in other sectors that require a high level of engineering expertise. Potential career paths include nuclear engineer, mechanical engineer, design engineer and project manager.
Entry Requirements
Typically, entrants will possess a minimum of 102 UCAS points from a full Level 3 qualification in a related area, and at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, maths and a science subject.

The Student Experience Team can mentor and signpost students who are struggling with a range of issues that are negatively impacting their day-to-day life. The Student Experience Team works closely with the Safeguarding & Lifestyle Teams to promote proactive wellbeing enrichment sessions. The team can refer on to counselling when appropriate.
